Bringing a Dollar Bill to Life

Manipulating the audience....

Sorry for the sad camera angle.  I should have had someone else film.

Descanso Gardens

With a few of my gymnasts and their families

So today concluded the 2nd weekend of our origami workshops at Descanso Gardens this year.

Yesterday was a pretty low turnout (lots of rain).  It rained a bit this morning.  The sun came out after we were done at 3pm.

I had a decent turnout of some of my gymnasts from work.

I had some of my origami teaching filmed which I'll try and sift through the lulls and edit down to what hopefully will be of interest to origami enthusiasts; especially those of you who are looking for ideas on how to teach in an entertaining fashion to the general public.

February NOA issue

It says "February 2017 review", but this is actually for 2018, issue #510:

I was thinking Heather had maybe gotten weary of doing reviews; or didn't renew her subscription (I still have yet to renew mine- it's been months or a year, now).  But I'm thinking maybe it's because she's now folding examples of the models that appear in the magazine- so taking longer to post?

Descanso Gardens

Pam Miike and I are once again teaching origami at Descanso Gardens.  We were there last weekend.  Due to the rain on Saturday, we found ourselves inside the Tea House; and due to the expanding number of people, on Sunday we were packed inside and also teaching more people outside.

Because there is no Cherry Blossom Festival this year, the traffic flow is lighter.

We will be there this Saturday and Sunday for more paperfolding fun.

Happy 70th to Ron Koh!

It's March 9th in Singapore!  Caveman Boon made an epic 30 min video comprised of fans and friends of Ron all across the globe.  He hasn't made the video embeddable, so here's the link.

So simple! It's perfect!

Description translated:

Blowing is a simple but important exercise for the development of speech. When we talk about it in the phase, if the child has any difficulty breathing or any situation that alters his breathing, he will present difficulties in his language. The blow exercises will not only help the child control his breathing but will also strengthen the muscles he uses when talking. Some benefits may be:* learn or improve breathing for speech.* learn how to drive and control the air when talking.* improves and controls his voice.* improves your pronunciation. This is a fun and motivational strategy or activity to exercise the blow.
