Origamist "Burglar"?

Origamists make for even nice burglars:

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Whoever broke into a Massachusetts man’s home last week didn’t take a thing. They did, however, leave the house spotless.
Nate Roman tells The Boston Globe that when he returned to his Marlborough home from work May 15, he could tell a stranger had been there.
Nothing was missing, but the 44-year-old Roman noticed the beds were made, the rugs vacuumed and the toilets scrubbed. They even crafted origami roses on the toilet paper rolls.
He called the experience “weird and creepy” and contacted police.
Sgt. Daniel Campbell says that the department hasn’t heard of similar episodes and that there are no suspects.
Roman says he may have left his back door unlocked. He thinks perhaps a housekeeping service went to his home by mistake.

LaFosse Art Deco Wing Attacks Gymnastics Coach!

I've posted before on Michael LaFosse's Art Deco Wing

Reaction was priceless!

Last week was origami week at my gym, during summer camp; and I was recruited to come in to teach origami all week (I normally only teach team, these days).  It was fun.  I may post a couple more video clips that may give teachers out there some ideas on how to bring entertainment into the teaching.

The Sharpest Fingers in Clayburn County

Via Joseph Wu on the O-List:

Inspired by the storytelling of O Henry and Mark Twain, our little film tells the twisty story of two testosterone-driven men in a tavern who unexpectedly enter the world of origami.

Jurassic Origami

No.....I've never seen any of the Jurassic movies.

But I did hear about the Chris Pratt Jurassic meme.

The Satoshi KAMIYA Coelophysis was folded by me today (just for this); and the shoddy photoshopping was all done using a phone app.

If I had a bit more patience, I would have liked to have tried using these models:

Origami Picture-Game

There's been a meme going around Facebook (I don't know who started it) where someone tags you to post a picture of a folded model, one per day for 3 consecutive days; and then to tag and invite someone else to participate.

I hate memes.  I ignored the ice bucket challenge.  I do not do email forwards to 10 friends, even if I risk bad luck.

When Andrew Hans tagged me, I didn't want to be rude but thought to ignore and pretend like I did not notice.  But a few days later, after talking to another friend, I decided to participate in good humor.  The following, from first to last, is what I posted:

A goose!

I think this is from the Jim Carrey movie, "Liar, Liar", using the crumplegami technique:

Origami for Self Defense

Well, on the heels of the bottle opener out of paper, I recalled seeing a video of one of my old teachers, Dan Inosanto, teaching about how the old Filipino Escrimadors would roll up a newspaper very tightly and use it as an improvised impact weapon (rolled up densely, it's about as good as wood).

Poking around, this is an example of what you can do with paper:

For kicks, I thought I'd run "self defense origami" in the YouTube search engine.  I was shocked when this lame video came up (not expecting to find a thing under that topic heading):

Yup....5-and-a-half minutes of your life that you will never ever get back.

You're welcome.

Question

Ever notice how the word "gullible", when you say it out loud very slowly, can often sound like you're saying "origami"?!
