Large as Life
The Nick Robinson one Himanshu Agrawal folded last year is from a 42-ft. square. The final model stands at 13-ft in height.
For more oversized origami, check out the OUSA Convention competition:
I didn't know Sipho Mabona's giant elephant was a world record. What record is it? Also, I believe there was a famous giabt origami elephant folded on TV by I don't remember whom....
In Rich Beech's Practical Origami, it mentions how he and Larry Hart folded a giant elephant for a television show. There's a picture of it, too, and it's not life-sized (unless you want to qualify it as a baby elephant)- maybe 4 ft tall and 6 or 7 feet in length.
Incidentally, I just found out that Himanshu's been receiving some hate mail since he's tried to set the historical record straight and inform that he's already done a bigger elephant.
