About the French bulldog you're asking the source: it's is indeed the first dog Éric folded, as the other ones belong to a "Dog" series in 2002 (included the Bulldog nº 2).
This first bulldog was a gift to BOS (British Origami Society) in 1997 for its 20th Anniversary.
